About me

Hello and welcome to my author website.

Here you will find my blog and information about my books, so it’s a great way to stay in touch with what I’m currently writing.

A little bit about me… I have been writing ever since I was a small child. I used to copy my childhood books onto a second-hand typewriter, adding small plot changes to make them more suited to my interests, before coming up with my own stories. As a teenager I discovered Stephen King, became obsessed and read everything he wrote. My favourite authors now are Joyce Carol Oates, George RR Martin, Susan Hill and so many others.

I’ve worked with prisoners, for charities trying to stop the exploitation of vulnerable adults and children, and I’ve worked as a coroner’s assistant, so writing crime fiction is a natural progression. As well as crime novels I also write short stories, several of which have been published in various anthologies in the UK and the US. I’ve also been shortlisted and longlisted for various writing competitions.

My first novel (The Girl Who Died) was longlisted for the Mslexia Novel Competition. Since then I’ve written two crime series – one following Officer Dean Matheson on his quest to make detective and the other following Detective Madison Harper as she tries to reclaim her life after spending six years in prison for a crime she didn’t commit. A full list of my books can be found here.

I’m active on all social media (but mainly Twitter and Facebook) so look me up if you’d like to keep up-to-date with book releases and find out what happens behind the scenes with me, my characters and my feline writing buddies; Joey, Sookie and Teddy:
